Lamenting
Camp was a huge success yet again. With great weather and some incredibly fun activities, over 500 campers made the Clash of the Clans fantastic for all.
We worked so hard to get everyone off to the ferries this morning that half our staff ended up missing the 2:20 ferry ourselves. No worries, 2 hours in the sun isn’t the end of the world.
A big thank you goes to the entire staff whose small number (13) still managed to run the camp flawlessly.
I’d also like to thank all the campers – you were amongst the most active and well-behaved we’ve seen!
As soon as we clean up we can take a couple of months to rest before we start planning Mardi Gras 2009.
See you at the other group camps!
We’re here, where are you?
We arrived yesterday afternoon, unloaded the truck, set up a few things and grabbed dinner in town. This morning brought us a glimmer of sun for continued preparation followed by shorts and shirt weather this afternoon.
It’s now almost midnight and the clans have arrived all evening to fill the campsite.
We’re looking forward to more great weather tomorrow for the Highland Games!
Coastward Bound
We’ve loaded the truck and now we’re sitting in the ferry lineup to head over and prepare the camp for your arrival. I still maintain that the weather’s going to be nice so come prepared for wet ground, maybe a couple of showers and SUN!
Only 3 more sleeps!
With the camp a mere 3 days away, the Rover Crew is scurrying to do last minute preparations and finalizing details. Our year of planning is about to errupt in full Mardi Gras style and it looks as if the Sunshine Coast will live up to its name once more.
If you haven’t mailed your form at this point, please bring it with you to camp. If you have already mailed it, please don’t email asking me if we’ve received it. Chances are we have but I won’t even know until camp.
If you have any last minute questions which you weren’t able to email or have answered in the RoversBC.com forums, THEN it’s okay to call the emergency phone number. I promise not to chew you out.
I might squeeze in one more post before camp, but if not, see you there!
